About Me
I've been a Starsky & Hutch fan since 1975. But my gateway drug was Mod Squad. I remember dancing (or was it running?) around the living room while the trumpets from the theme song blared from the television set. I was intrigued by these undercover cops (the fuzz) who would stand around and look cool doing it. They were friends. They covered for each other. It was all heart over mind. They rooted for the underdog and believed in a karate chop over gun violence. I was especially fascinated with Pete's storylines.
I watched the series when it originally aired, and I watched reruns while in high school. But then the show disappeared. It was never shown in syndication again, at least not in my area. Forty-five years later, I bought the first two seasons on DVD, and a year or two later, found the rest of the episodes on Youtube. That led me to the complete DVD set. I found so many connections to Starsky & Hutch. This is what originally prompted this website. There were many of the same directors, guest-stars, locations, and even a couple of scripts were reused. After becoming reacquainted with the Mod Squad episodes, I fell in love with the series all over again. The first two seasons are so beautifully remastered, and the music throughout strikes a chord in my nostalgic heart.
I'm a retired teacher and dance specialist/choreographer, probably because of my love of music and dance back in the 60s. As a youngster, I loved TV theme songs like Mission Impossible and Mod Squad, and wanted to be a Dean Martin Gold Digger dancer. I currently volunteer as a photographer at my local SPCA.
With love,
T.
